CHAS Health & WSU Partner to Address Primary Care Shortage

$1.3 Million Investment Enhances Nursing Program at WSU

CHAS Health and Washington State University (WSU) received a two-year federal grant that will enhance the WSU College of Nursing to prepare more students to become nurse practitioners. CHAS Health, a community health center with clinics in Washington and Idaho, will provide a nurse practitioner in residence with the goal of generating more clinicians in rural areas. 

"CHAS seeks to overcome barriers to care.  It's our hope that those students will choose to continue in Eastern Washington in an underserved setting, working with underserved populations, " said Lindsey Ruivivar, Public Policy and Development Manager for CHAS.
