Family Medicine Residency of Idaho Partners with Community Organizations to Promote Healthy Eating


Family Medicine Residency of IdahoSt. Luke's Community Health Improvement Fund and Idaho Hunger Relief Task Force have partnered to create the Food is Medicine initiative.   The initiative, aimed at promoting healthy communities, provides fresh fruits and vegetables to families.  The task force has introduced a two-step screen and intervene model to clinics so they can identify people experiencing food insecurity and connect them with resources.  

Over 240,000 Idahoans, including more than 75,000 children, experience food insecurity in Idaho.  This program is a powerful step in creating communities that are vibrant and healthy.
