Lt. Gov. Brad Little Visits Valley Family Health Care
New Plymouth - Valley Family Health Care was pleased to host Idaho Lt. Governor Brad Little and Rep. Ryan Kerby (R-New Plymouth) for a visit to their New Plymouth medical clinic. As a community health center, Valley Family Health Care operates medical clinics in Idaho (Emmett, New Plymouth, Payette) and Oregon (Vale, Nyssa, Ontario). Dental clinics are located in Payette, Ontario and Nyssa. Valley Family Health Care staff, including CEO Tim Heinze, discussed the challenges of serving uninsured patients and the differences they see between patients in Idaho and those in Oregon where the healthcare coverage gap has been closed.
Valley Family Health Care:
In 2015 Valley Family Health Care served over 11,000 patients, for a total of more than 36,000 office visits. Valley Family Health Care, like other community health centers, provides high quality primary care that is focused on wellness, prevention and chronic disease management. Primary care reduces disease through treatment and prevention, reduces the economic cost of poor health, and reduces emergency and hospital visits. Idaho's community health centers provide care to patients regardless of a person's insurance status and accept Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance, as well as a sliding fee scale for patients without insurance.
