Dirne Community Health Center services include a primary care medical clinic, a counseling center, and dental clinic.
Lidwina Dirne witnessed the heartbreaking impact a single mother with disabilities suffered because she lacked access to basic medical care for herself and her family. Lidwina mobilized a volunteer-run free clinic. With community backing, the clinic operated two evenings a week for fifteen years until the demand exceeded the part-time clinic's capacity. In 2004, with a designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), the community, inspired by Lidwina's passionate organizing, named it "Dirne Community Health Center."
