About the Program 

ICHCA is a proud sponsor of the College of Western Idaho’s Medical Assistant (MA) Apprenticeship Program. If you are currently working as an MA, are seeking employment as an MA, or are a community health center that could benefit from MAs, we invite you to participate in the Idaho MA Apprenticeship program! 

     

 Non-Credit Program: 

The Non-credit MA Apprenticeship program is offered online and can be completed in as little as 12 months. You will have the flexibility to learn whenever and wherever you want, allowing for study time in between your other obligations. Support is available from real people every step of the way. As an MA, the world is your oyster! This program prepares you to test for national certifications including Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), and Certified EKG Technician (CET). 

Audience: This course is designed for employed MAs and/or those seeking hands-on MA experience.  

Style: Apprenticeship – A minimum of 144 hours of related instruction and 2,000 hours of on-the-job training (or 1 year of full-time work). 

Tuition: $3,799

Credit Program: 

The credit MA Apprenticeship program is offered through a hybrid delivery and can be completed in as little as 12 months. Prepare for your future career in healthcare in College of Western Idaho's (CWI) Medical Assistant – Credit program. Learn the knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to be a competent, entry-level medical assistant. Through practical learning opportunities, you can master the administrative and clerical skills needed to provide quality healthcare to patients in our community and be prepared to complete the Certified Medical Assistant exam.

Audience:This course is designed for employed MAs and/or those seeking hands-on MA experience.  

Style: Apprenticeship – A minimum of 144 hours of related instruction and 2,000 hours of on-the-job training (or 1 year of full-time work). 

Tuition: $4,448
